Here's a new thing we're excited about. Vino Idda was started by two clever thinkers and wine lovers, Lucy and Alysha, who have experience on farms and in making wine, you know, it's a 'winemaking runs in the family' type of thing. They're working out of Gippsland, Victoria and have strong focus on maintaining soil and farm health so they're doing everything low-fi, working organically in vineyard and with no-adds in cellar. Best thing? Their first release is a duo of absolute stunners.
Vino Novello is 100% shiraz and fresh as can be. Pomegranate juice and saline minerality. Definitely hits the spot for summery red that's easy to drink and knocks the crisp chilled red-zone for six. Then there's one heck of a field blend rose – it's frisky and fresh and right on the money. Righteous drinking here with both wines ideally suited to sharing around the table at your next shin-dig, Christmas long-lunch or park session.
