A famed French aperitif liqueur Suze was created in 1889, at the Rousseau, Laurens and Moureaux distillery in the outskirts of Paris. Flavoured with Gentian Root (which is still sourced from Jura to this day), this bitter sweet aperitif has with a spicy fruitiness to it. Suze can be consumed neat or on ice, but can also be used as the bitter component for many cocktails.
