So, what do you do when the mercury drops to single digis, but you haven't had time to pull the heaters out from the garage, or get all the heavy blankets down from the top left corner of the cupboard? And there's no firewood, and where are my ugg boots?
Get into the reds we'd say! And not just any reds, time to explore the glorious richness from the South of France with our mate Charlie Simpson (Virtuous Vine*). In this class, he'll take us through a line up of his favourite wines from what is colloquially known as the Bangs of France or the Mediterranean scruffy fringe of fine wine.
From Languedoc to Roussillon, Charlie will take us on a turn through the wild, free, open and light-strewn landscapes of the south of France in an attempt to capture some of the warm sun from a Mediterranean summer. We'll taste examples of better known grape varieties and a few you should get better acquainted with while also dispelling a few myths around natural wines from the region.
* Charlie Simpson is the founder of Virtuous Vine, a small business importing Natural French Wines, all made by passionate ultra respectful farmers of healthy grapes. Charlie lived in France for 8 years, studied a Masters Degree in Wine there and had a generally great time helping out in as many vineyards as he could (and enjoying their spoils of course). Now back in Australia with a large tribe of French/Australians.
