The Ghisolfi family have been hard at work in Barolo since the 1600s, and brothers Enzo and Ivo are now in charge of turning out the small, exceptional production. Medium+ in body, dry and dusty with aromas of cupboard spice, leather, jerky and dried roses. Boozy and intense, chalky tannins. Stash away for a few years, decant and enjoy.
Despite the warm vintage, these Barolo 2017 show elegance, fruit and freshness. (...) Giuseppe Rinaldi once told me how this cru is so underrated.
