Made exclusively for us by the legendary Jasper Button and co. in the Basket Range of the Adelaide Hills. This amazing vermouth is produced from pinot noir and chardonnay from the organic-farmed estate. It sees an inclusion of herbs, fruits, spices and botanicals that were both foraged and grown on the Commune of Buttons farm - it includes wormwood, dandelion, iris root, laurier, sage, rosemary, acacia seeds, Indian marigold, fennel, mint and more.
The sum of the parts is amazing - indeed, this is one of the most delicious vermouth we've tried in an eon. The wine base is stellar, there's a pleasing almost sherry like quality to the vermouth. It's spicy and vividly herbal, but superbly balanced. Savoury and pleasing bitter, gently fruity but not sweet, it delivers humongous refreshment factor and feels best drunk as a lusty slosh over ice in a tumbler with an orange wedge tossed in.
