Dazma Wine Company Pinot Noir 2022
100% pinot noir from King Valley. A muscular yet delicate fruit-driven wine. A touch of whole bunch fermentation tickles the senses, while lovely acid and a velvety tannin backbone carries the wine. Aged in a mix of stainless and aged oak, this wine is fun, fresh, and goes down a treat with spaghetti bolognese.
Ghost Planet Grenache 2022
Swan Valley and beautifully grown grenache. Thanks heaps. It's a slurpy, lighter weight red expression destined for a good chill, to be drunk direct from Esky, fridge or ice-filled bath. Party on. Scents of cherry cola, dried herbs, woody spices. Flavours of pomegranate juice, cherry juice, more of the dried herbs and earthy spice. Crunchy texture, a little refreshing pucker to finish. Grand!
S'Express Winemakers Stupid Little Red 2022
This one is a red(ish!) wine that sits at just under medium weight, lively with red berry freshness, dusted with spice, spiked with leafy herbal characters and breezed over by that inimitable Great Southern, WA, sea spray character that makes the wines minerally and interesting. This one is a ripper drink, a little wild streak too, does wonders with a chill and feels all refreshing and crunchy and the like.
Ada Wine Co. Clique Red 2022
Ada Wine Co travels around various South Australian wine regions producing intriguing and delicious things, all with a slightly left of centre bent. This is a blend of red and white grapes (the white bit sees some skin fermentation) that ends up as a lighter, fresher red expression. That being said, plenty of character here. Scents of cherry cola, raspberry and dried flowers, flavours echo the bouquet with vibrant red berry fruitiness and a gentle herbal edge. Refreshing reddish wine is the result. Super stuff.
Future's So Bright 2022
A New World take on an Old World classic made especially for us by the one and only Sholto Broderick of Basket Range Wines in the Adelaide Hills. A single barrel of 50/50 merlot and petit verdot, all plummy freshness and ripe purple fruit, with some darker berry and fragrant herbal detail. In Sholto's words: "Old oak for not heaps long so it's nice and fresh." Chill it down, drink it up! BOOM.
P&V Session Red 2021
Screw tasting notes. It's made by Blind Corner, the colour is red, it's some sort of cabernet blend and my glass seems to have a hole in it....
