Brash Higgins MCC 2018

In 2013 we were asked by a new grower what grapes we'd be keen to see planted on his vineyard. Immediately we suggested Mataro, Cinsault and Carignan, three stalwart red grapes of sunny Southern France, a region that McLaren Vale bares a strong climatic resemblance to. It took a few years to get a crop from the new plantings, but in 2017 our first field blend from Lennon Vineyard came to fruition. All the fruit was hand-picked on the same day and co-fermented wild with heaps of whole bunch Mataro to develop the peppery notes we wanted. Sweet cherry fruit flavours from the Cinsault and notes of wild roses from the Carignan complete the deal and provide the desired balance.

“Ruby red with an attractive nose of pink peppercorn, cinnamon, cherries and roses, the MCC delivers wildness and perfume in equal measures. Sweet red fruit contrasts the spiciness on the palate and finishes clean, dry and focused with rose petal and cherry notes on the after breath. Good acidity keeps the wine bright and fresh faced, albeit rustic and food friendly.” Brad Hickey (Winemaker), Brash Higgins

Continental Platter Pinot Noir 2019

Fresh and bright, easy drinking and satisfying! No muss no fuss, just the way we like it.

Delinquente Bullet Dodger Montepulciano 2019

"The Montepulciano was harvested on the last day of February, the earliest we have ever picked this vineyard. We could have let the fruit hang for longer, but the fruit tasted so good, with such lovely freshness and acidity we just went for it." - Delinquente Wine co.

Bullet Dodger is a great medium body juicy arvo wine. You can smash it while walking the dog, or playing cards, or watching the sunset with your lover... Food, no food. Anything really. A bloody good drop, as they say.

Edenflo Syrah Grenache 2019

Winemaker Andrew Wardlaw is a bloody awesome human, edgy in this thinking, you could say ahead of the curve. He worked out that farming with chemicals and making wine with additions wasn't how he was growing his vegetables, and eating them, so adjusted his ways to align more closely with tenets of natural wine, before he had really gotten the idea that natural wine was a thing.

Little Rara Noir Schioppettino 2018

Last year was Nero d’Avola, and this year it’s Schioppettino (91%) and Shiraz. Excellent! Ra Ra!

Well, it’s quite a different expression of Schioppettino for me, or at least what I’m used to. This is sweet and juicy, with blackcurrent and blackberry, a little spice and new leather, but almost jubey in its presentation. There’s a light (and varietal) dusting of peppery tannin, though it’s kind of lost in the curranty fruit. Still, it’s pretty honest and enjoyable, if not complex. – Wine Front

A.R.C Wines Cabernet Merlot 2019

Our 2019 Cabernet Merlot is an even blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Both portions were picked on the same with 50% de-stemmed and 50% kept as whole bunches for a carbonic maceration. These grapes fermented in tank for 12 days with no plunging or pumping. Once pressed and blended they were moved to four old hogsheads. Here it aged on lees for 6 months. Bottled unfiltered and un-
fined with 20 parts of SO2 added in the week leading up to bottling. - A.R.C. Wines
