Bistro Louis Severine I Dreamed I Stabbed You in the Eye 2019
This exotically named wine is the love child of Sev Perru (global, natural wine consultant and boss of wine for 10 Bells wine bar in NYC) and Basket Range Wine second gen Louis Broderick. They’re partners in life and partners in this wine brand. It’s cabernet here, sloshy, juicy, dark fruited, very earthy and elemental. It’s wild and deep, brooding and mushroomy/autumnal. It’s really on the edge in some respects but the journey is exciting, the grape variety left to find a natural state from the vineyard and lip-smacking satisfying in its flourish of savouriness. Warming for the belly and soul.
P&V Session Red 2021
Screw tasting notes. It's made by Blind Corner, the colour is red, it's some sort of cabernet blend and my glass seems to have a hole in it....
De Vasari Organic Chianti DOCG 2019
Organic grapes and sustainable farming from sugarcane corks through to solar energy and all for an amazingly affordable price! What the hell are you waiting for??!!
Mallaluka Mataro Shiraz 2021
Riverland mataro and Hilltops shiraz. Savoury, juicy, herbaceous and slightly tart with enough ripeness of fruit to mop up any greenness. Can definitely be chilled, or in between room temperature and fridge. Guzzle with a tin of anchovies on toasted rye. - Sam Leyshon, wine maker
Year Wines Wok Blend 2021
Mataro, trousseau, cabernet and graciano. A marriage made for cold nights and rainy days. And guess what.....it's winter!
Geyer Wine Co. Mourvedre 2020
Barossa monte, planted by an old Italian guy 25 or so years ago. “A cool site”, says Dave Geyer, “his wines were rubbish but his vision was spot on”. Haha.
There’s some thickness here but it feels bright and pretty at the same time. Red and black cherry, a bit of boysenberry lift, a bit of white pepper, some sweet game meat notes, some balsamic tang and a bit of hazelnut ground through it all. Tannins make a light pucker, the acidity lively and very fresh. Jolly red wine.. - The Wine Front
