Freeman for P&V Prosecco
It's prosecco but done righteously, natural ferment, no additions, zero sulphur and a bit out of the box for the expectations of the variety and style. It's refreshing as all get out with zingy bubbles and offers up good sense of nutty-savouriness too. Damn, this one is interesting and great. Delicious!
Brothers Koerner Chardonnay 2022
The brothers Koerner are known for their Koerner range of wines from Clare Valley vineyards, with this additional project, ‘Brothers Koerner’, not necessarily imaginatively named, but created so they could play outside of their home base. Here is relatively straight up Adelaide Hills chardonnay, albeit with some additional savouriness, saline minerality and with chewy, chalky texture in tow.
Dr Edge Tasmania Ambrosia 2023
Dr Edge 'Ambrosia' is a blend of schonburger and pinot gris fruit from The Tamar Valley. Co-fermented on skins for one week, its pressed to old oak casks to dry out and relax for two months, then bottled without filtration.
Ambrosia is a sexually confused robot who thinks it is immortal. - Peter Dredge
Continental Platter Rose 2021
From biodynamic vineyard source and mostly the grape variety of cabernet sauvignon, this is pinky-orange in the glass like a dazzling Western Australian sunset. Aww, nice. Crisp, red fruits, a dash of spice, some tangy freshness to it and a general sense of easy drinking. This wine is an any time of day wine. It's a cracker.
Latta Vino Wildwest Red Blend 2022
Owen Latta is one of Australia’s best younger gen winemakers and a dab hand at producing light but detailed red wines that you drink with gusto. Here’s another Wild West winner, a vibrant expression full of pretty perfume, spice, red fruit, faint savouriness, fine tannin and a general sense of interest. It’s got that crunch and crispness too. What a cool wine.
Ciu Ciu Piceno Bacchus 2022
A satisfying combo of sangiovese and montepulciano marries the rustic charms of the former with the latter's plummy juiciness. Incredibly smooth and well-rounded, this is an approachable and fun red to please all palates.
