Jumpin' Juice Half Full Red 2020
The glass is always half full when you've got winemakers Xavier Goodridge and Patrick Sullivan teaming up. A couple of real, shiny fellas.
A jumpy blend of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and sauvignon blanc that ends up a few pay grades above rose.
It’s tangy and bright, all crunchy and crisp, red cherries jostling with sour cherries jostling with pickled cherries and a big splash of cranberry juice to finish. Nice bite and gentle bitterness, such high refreshment factor and general yes yes yes! kind of appeal. Delicious. - The Wine Front
Somos Tintito 2019
Doesn't really matter what the grape varieties are here, there's a few of them all squished together, the message is way more about the super smashable, easy drinking, interesting wine that results. Somos are knocking it out of the park for good (value) wines and this is no miss. It reeks of sour and sweet berries, fennel, pepper, and tastes kinda similar, juicy as, bright to finish, thirst-quenching and straight up darn good medium bodied red. Yeehaaw. Get this in your carafes and tumblers.
Chouette Revival Grenache 2020
Light & fragrant grenache, with bright, pretty, aromatic power. Layers of flavour from three distinctly different parcels of fruit, a heap of whole-berry carbonic maceration and blending of old + new(er) French oak maturation & stainless steel for freshness. Slippery light red fruits, lovely aromatics & gentle tannin grip with a lush savoury finish. - Tom Daniel, wine maker.
Le Coste Litrozzo Rosso 2019
Gianmarco Antonuzzi and Clementine Bouveron tend around 14 hectares of land, with vineyards surrounded by olive groves, chestnut trees, shrubs and oaks. Sat around the volcanic Lake Bolsena near the town of Gradoli in Lazio’s north, the region’s soils are rich in iron and minerals.
The Rosso sees Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and Merlot. It is light, bright and full of red fruits. It is also just 12% of alcohol, so get your motor runnin' 'cause this one screams to be chilled and drunk out of tumblers with pizza.
Fallow Cheeky Sangiovese 2019
Carb-mac sangio with 10 days skin contact made by the lovely Ryan Frazer in Healesville. The fruit comes from Gruyere, only 43kms from Melbourne itself. Cherry coke vibes. Delightful.
Si Vintners The Sauce 2018
From the Si Vintners team comes this friendly, early drinking wine series that’s built for chilling and drinking at pace. Happy vineyards, judicious blending, sees some pinot and malbec grapes met by other varieties that don’t really matter in the mix. Fun.
Juicy and bright, ultra ‘vin de soif’ style here. Crunchy texture, red cherry and raspberry things going on, tangy acidity and all up vivacious and flavoursome. It sits light and uplifting in the palate, pleasing as a simple drink with good detail. It’s one of those ‘carafe and tumbler’ kinda wines. Go forth with gusto!
