Giovanni Armani Giorgio Bianco Superioré 2020
Ready for a road trip? Well then this wine is for you! Take a journey through the South Australian regions of Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley and Riverland with this wine. A blend of vermentino, malvasia bianco and trebbiano this wine is a cheerful shower of citrus and tropical notes, with grippy texture and zingy acidity.
Multiple ferments, multiple levels of maceration, multiple regions – enter the multiverse of flavour. The Fiat needs a service, but the wine is tip-top.

Domaine des Sablonnettes Les Petit Chenin 2019
For more than 30 years, Domaine des Sablonettes has been producing outstanding wines from Coteaux du Layon of Loire Valley. They are dedicated biodynamic farmers, gently work grapes into bottle with wild fermentation, zero additions and no filtering/fining as a motif. This is brilliant, electric, mouth-watering and lively chenin blanc set to bone dry though 2019 sees a little puppy fat in texture. It’s all saline and soft, Real Lemonade-y, light and fresh, plush in its mouth-feel and faintly nutty-savoury. Such a refreshing, brilliant white wine, illuminating just how versatile and interesting chenin can be at the drier end of the scale, and just how fine it can feel too. Superb expression here.
Baltic Tea Bianco 2020
This one is a textural, saline, refreshing white. The ones that are all crunchy and sorta salty, but in the best sense of that word, and there's fruitiness but not too much, and a little herbal twist for good measure. Unusual in the make-up, it's a blend of greco, sauvignon blanc and chardonnay, and the whole lot gets fermented in old French oak barrels. Good farming too - nice and sustainably done in the Riverland. We're drinking bucketloads of this by bodies of water.
Christina Netzl Gruner Veltliner 2019
A generational wine producer, Christina Netzl grew up around winemaking and has learned intuitively to grow grapes and make wine naturally. The family started converting the vineyards in 2013, with their plots set in the ultra cool climate growing area of Carnuntum. This wine is ‘white-ish’, set to medium weight, shows excellent textural detail and tastes and smells like green melon, lime and marzipan (or sweet almonds for those not into marzipan). It’s so darn delicious, is the message.
2018 blend of viognier and pinot gris that has has a kiss of skin contact. Plus direct press riesling and barrel ferment chardonnay. Blah, blah, blah, way too many words. All you need to know is that this wine is textural as all get out, hazy, cloudy apple juice vibes with chalky pucker. Yeeewwwww, yes please!
