A flavoursome, lighter, fresher-feeling blend of cabernet and nero d’Avola from Central Victoria. The shape-shifting Boomtown collective in Castlemaine, Victoria, have generally produced interesting wines, now up a notch in quality, me thinks. This current suite of 2020 releases is brilliant value for money, with feet firmly planted in the avant garde wine camp, while delivering, bright, vibrant wines.
Crunchy and crisp, tart and dry, young mulberries, just ripe plum, sprigs of fennel and mint and a dash of white pepper. Has that super appealing garnet colour that speaks of lively, lighter reds. Feels electric in its frisky, energetic drinking. Should be chilled to the bone and drunk with plastic cups in the sun. With gusto. It’s such a vibe. - The Wine Front
