Aglianico from the Adelaide Hills, hello! A ‘joint’ by Forlorn Hope ably assisted by Jaysen Collins (JC’s Own). This one tips into fuller red wine category, albeit with freshness on its side.
The aroma is delightful – ripe and fresh red berry fruits, a bit of blueberry, some mushroom/truffley notes and a whiff of alpine herb. Flavours sit in juiciness, a slosh of red and blackberry crunch and sweet fruit. Delicious! There’s depth and weight here but levity too. A pinosity? Sorta. Grippy Italianate tannins? Yes. Fruit and savouriness in cahoots? You betcha. This is utterly delicious, quietly complex stuff right here. Wonderful. - The Wine Front
