Ye Olde Douge’s Vineyarde. A Very Significant Rosé.
Bright and fresh with a squeaky feel to texture. Lots of fragrant, floral, sweeter-than-expected berried perfume and whiffs of talc and sandalwood too. Flavours tend to cherry/raspberry section of the fruit and veg aisle and there’s a nice little pucker to the finish. It feels a bit diminished compared to the previous release but that’s off a high base no doubt. A little stretched? Less intensity? Anyway, the general thing is this is really good drinking even if it comes back into the fold of more expected rose character.
