The story of Nikka Japanese Whisky begins with Masataka Taketsuru, now known as the father of Japanese Whisky, who travelled to Scotland to master his craft before returning to establish Nikka Whisky in 1934. The Nikka 12 Year Old was released in 2014 on their 80th Anniversary. A soft and sweet blend with butterscotch and toffee apples on the noise. Cocoa and nutmeg follow with a buttery oak, leather and hints of soft smoke. Finishing spicy, long and generous and presented in a neat bottle which takes it's design from the neckline of a kimono.
