Inzolia is a grape variety more commonly found in Sicily, Italy, than Australia, but here we have one from the Adelaide Hills. Yes! It’s a stunning white wine, saline and crisp, a little savoury in faint, cashew nuttiness but blisteringly fresh with green apple and limey, citrusy freshness the mainstays. It’s a compelling white for texture too, a little grippy, a little chalky, a lot delicious. Main & Cherry are a younger gen outfit doing good work with sustainable vines and lo-fi winemaking. While this release is a little ‘square’ it’s brilliant for it’s quiet complexity and an honest expression of the intriguing variety it is made from.
