Misty’s a chardonnay from Coolah Road vineyard in Kongerong SA, on the Limestone Coast. Positioned so close to the sea you can taste that salty-breeze, which keeps the alcs down and the acids up. It spends two days on skins before being pressed into old American oak for a few days then transferred to old French barrels (think big Coonawara reds) for another 10 months.
How is it? Pretty damn good we say. Fits in as a funky white or mild orange. Not really tannic but high acidity and a little phenolic grip. Apple fruit vibes mingling with a whiff of American coconut goodness. Heaps drinkable. A kick-on woine right here. But we reckon your mum might like it too, Sally’s does.
