Aaaaahhhhhh, Mount Etna... If you haven't dreamt about spending a summer in Sicily, driving around beautiful and wild beaches, listening to loud sicilians with their harsh accent, eating fresh fish straight out of the Med and juicy plump tomatoes. Well, then something is wrong with you and you should re-think your dreams.
Cottanera is a beautiful winery close to Mount Etna, working with indegenous grape varieties. The bianco is mainly Cattaratto, giving a rich full body wine, but lifted by subtle floral notes brought by the 10% added viognier. The volcanic soil always adds a delicious minerality, softening the wine and giving it this je ne sais quoi that Mount Etna wines always deliver.
Drink it while watching The Sicilian. Best night ever.
