A & C Ainsworth Grenache 2024

Landsborough Vineyard is the star! Hello! The Ainsworth’s hold down the outstanding Bar Merenda in Daylesford, and have had great experience in other wine realms prior. Wines are made in and around Cobaw Ridge winery.

Quite bold and rich, indeed, few Vic versions of the variety teeter into this territory of generosity and FlavourTown space, but in that, simply, yum. Sweetness and ripeness is a thing here, a smidge, a smudge of tannin, shapes things a touch, a faint chalky finish a welcome respite from the bounce and plushness of fruit. A faint, very faint, spritz under it all, though that went with time too. Geez, there is a really bit-lip bloody thing going on here. Around that, breathy dark cherry, mocha, cola, fennel, salted liquorice, mint, eucalyptus, new leather and milk coffee. Warm, loose wine. Enjoyable, but here ya go. A looser, lusher rendition from the Ainsworths for this release. - The Wine Front
