Campania superstars Antonio and Daniela strike again! A new project, a new cellar, a blend of local varieties here – aglianico and piedirosso in Avellino. De-stemmed, fermented on skins for ten days and aged in cement. A slurpy, sinewy quaffer, just shy of medium weight, full of dark berry flavour and spurts of earth, scrubby herbs and some charry, ashy detail. Despite the depth of flavour, there’s that same sense of purity and easiness that makes these wines so darn good, year on year. This one just begs for a light chill, a few tumblers and a platter of salumi. Bullseye!
