Grenache and cinsault, with fruit donated by a kindly organic farming neighbour to complement a small selection of fruit saved from mildew in a difficult year.
Hearty perfume of ripe cherries, curry spice, almost an earthiness in perfume too. Really like the scent here, original and engaging. Fleshy texture, the alcohol presenting as generosity but sheets of frisky, amaro-like acidity chime in hugely and the finish is all garrigue, undergrowth and brambles, with a powdery pucker of excellent, skinsy tannin. Love this. What a vibe.
