Cascina Tavijn consist in about five hectares of vineyards and two hectares of hazelnuts, all organically grown (certified since 2007). Nadia like to works with little intervention as possible in the cellar and with only native grapes: grignolino, ruche', barbera, freisa, slarina and baratuciat.
The Slarina, once also known as Cellerina, Cinerina or in the dialectal variant of Slaréna, is a forgotten autochthonous grape variety of Monferrato. Despite its remarkable strength and its great potential, this variety has slowly disappeared in the last decades due to the little productivity of its grapes. Nadia wanted to rediscover it.
