All pinot noir here, grown organically, made from the vines of the estate. A grower-producer where father and son have claimed back the estate for own usage rather than selling grapes. Clay soils, richer, more oxidative styles seem to be the motif for this producer. Notable Yarra Valley winemaker Mac Forbes is importing these.
Soft and supple style. a fair bit of blue and black berry fruit amongst the salted cashew characters, the marzipan notes, the oyster shell/sea spray elements. Come hither texture, creamy but then pulls into a big roll of grip, chalkiness – yum. Lively, bold bubbles too, albeit this is quite vinous and winey in its way. Power and grace here. A serious feeling, regal and elegant style, with plenty to sink one’s teeth into. - The Wine Front
