A rare gem - grower champagne made from 100% pinot blanc. Made by a pair obsessed with making compost in order to make beautiful wine. Roland and Dominique reckon the Colas Robin is probably the best vineyard in their care. It is in a tranquil spot overlooking the Seine river. The vines were planted in 1955 and make pretty extraordinary wine. Golden coloured with yellow fruits and citrus flavours but a real savoury edge. Pithy, chalky and almost earthy in texture, with a stony line that runs throughout. There's spice and deep pastry notes too.
Its worth a decant to let the full depth of flavour emerge. Hold on to your seats, you ain't never tasted pinot blanc like this before.
