You like l'Octavin wines of Jura, right? Well, back when they started it was two people, one of who was Charles Dagand. Now Charles is doing this solo thing, and the wines are incredibly cool, incredibly good. And this wine is incredibly unique, born from a single mixed plot of grape varieties (all the ones allowed in Jura, chardonnay, savagnin, pinot noir, trousseau and ploussard), co-fermented for six weeks on skins. The resulting wine is, to use that word again, incredibly complex. Compelling drinking. A textural red-white, medium bodied, spicy, slick in texture with crisp acidity and a general moreish feel. Unique, righteous stuff.
