Organic farmed, rested on skins for two and a half weeks, barrel and terracotta amphora. The vineyard is near Hahndorf, Adelaide Hills. A good site and 25 year old vines.
Hazy guava juice colour. Nice. Scents of guava and ripe pear, rose petals, some faint sage leaf notes. Palate is squelchy and chewy, slick with texture then finishes in a good, building pucker. It feels nourishing, if that’s a thing, just has that texture of something readily digestible and healthy. Sweet fruit cut with bright undertow of acidity. Plenty going on here.
