Clos Cibonne Tradition Tibouren Rosé 2020
Regular price $69.00
It is 90% tibouren and 10% grenache, though Tibouren adorns the label (rules of history say you can't make rose from 100% anything). Tibouren is very much the metier of Clos Cibonne. The estate was replanted off just five vines after phylloxera, and before the creation of the appellation. Stainless steel then sent to the old (115-year-old, 5000L) foudre barrels. Younger-ish vines and harvested a little earlier than the old vines rose version. There's often flor present in these barrels too.
Very fragrant, floral and red berry-cherry fruited scents, a layer of spice, some herb, some saline character. Flavours lean into kirsch, beautifully, depth of red fruits, spice, sweet amaro-like character, shape from fine powdery tannins, a cool, long finish. Amazing really. So much to savour here. Very serious expression.
