Clos de Tue-Boeuf Cheverny Rouge Rouillon 2019
Regular price $58.00
Brothers Thierry and Jean-Marie Puzelat are some of France's most significant and interesting natural wine producers, set alongside names like Overnoy, Ganevat, Foillard, Lapierre, as examples, and are intensely focussed on organic farming on unique soils with heritage vines. These wines are cult classics, beautiful, fresh and pure. Small allocations are commonplace, the wines revered for their energy in youth and ability to cellar for long periods.
This cuvee is 50% pinot noir and 50% gamay. It's all berry fruit with a slap of earth and spice. Fine tannins shape things, fresh acidity bolsters the wine and keeps things vibrant and lively. It's a lighter, paler feel to this wine, though the fine detail is all there. It was one of our 'wines of the year' in 2020.
