A husband and wife (and friends). The importer tasted the montepulciano in a wine bar after a natural wine fair, "I hate montepulciano", he tells me, "but I thought whatever, I'll try this one". And he did, "and it tasted like pinot noir, I didn’t know what was going on, so I was heading to Abruzzo anyway, and decided to investigate". This is trebbiano, however.
Sheesh, this is delicious. Has a chalky, lightly saline thing going on, green apple juice but light, a squeeze of grapefruit juice too. Fragrant, lithe, so fresh and frisky. Has such a lovely feel to texture too - shimmer around the tongue. Unreal drinking.
