West of Madrid is the mountain range Sierra de Gredos. Here Daniel Landi grow old bush vine grenache in the deep, granitic mountainside soils. Las Uvas de la Ira comes from beautiful wild vineyards close to San Vicente village.
Shimmery, pale garnet colour. Sweet-sour cherry, rose water, pretty spice notes. Good perfume. Succulent, fine, silky in the palate, though tannins do tell you who’s boss in a weave of silty pucker. Great amaro-like tang to finish too, though that’s a long way down. Such a fine, pure-feeling, beautiful wine. - The Wine Front
