From Domaine Belargus in Anjou, Loire, comes a deeply complex and texturally intense chenin blanc, aged on lees for a year, with ripe creamy lemon butter and stone-fruits, white floral aromas and a gentle coolness - no doubt owed to the schist laden soils these grapes sprung from.
Chuck it in a decanter and it glows, becoming even more pure and even more intense, round and lush. Elegant, long, aromatic - this is a full bodied expression of terroir, this wine is an excellent example the deft and skilful art of the wine making skills of Ivan under the watchful eye of Jo Pithon.
A wine for the cellar if you can wait. If you can't, it's certainly good to go now.
