Domaine Buisson-Charles has firmly established itself among the elite Meursault producers. Catherine Buisson and Patrick Essa, who inherited the estate from Michel Buisson, maintain six hectares (four in Meursault) with impeccable sustainable practices, eschewing herbicides entirely. Their vineyard boasts exceptional vine maturity ranging from 40 to over 100 years, naturally restricting yields and concentrating flavors. Their judicious oak regimen (20-30% new barrels, hot-water treated to minimize flavour imprint) and absence of lees stirring preserves terroir expression. This 2021 Premier Cru Chablis from the left bank of the Serein river displays remarkable flavour intensity balanced by precise, structural acidity.
