The area of Savoie has been planted with vines since the roman era, yet many vineyards lay fallow. In 1998 a team of passionate people worked to resurrect two steep and rocky areas overgrown by forest. Together they created Domaine des Ardoisieres and its two vineyards Coteau de Cevins and Saint Pierre de Soucy. The domaine is now led by Brice Ormont, originally from the Champagne region and considered to be Savoie’s brightest star. Using biodynamic techniques and principles, the domaine grows predominantly native Savoyard grapes. Argile Blanc is a super fresh blend of 40% jacquere 40% chardonnay and 20% mondeuse blanche from the Saint Pierre de Soucy vineyard. Having spent nine months in tank, it is flinty, bright and positively buzzing with cool citrus mountain vibes.
