The area of Savoie has been planted with vines since the roman era, yet many vineyards lay fallow. In 1998 a team of passionate people worked to resurrect two steep and rocky areas overgrown by forest. Together they created Domaine des Ardoisieres and its two vineyards Coteau de Cevins and Saint Pierre de Soucy. The domaine is now led by Brice Ormont, originally from the Champagne region and considered to be Savoie’s brightest star. Using biodynamic techniques and principles, the domaine grows predominantly native Savoyard grapes.
50% jacquere, 30% bergeron (also known as roussane), 20% malvoisie, and 10% mondeuse blanche from the Coteau de Cevins vineyard, matured in oak barrels. Saline, smoky, power, length. This will take your tingling taste buds hurtling down the mountain at full throttle!
