Domaine Lajibe Jurancon Sec Carmeret 2020
Regular price $110.00
A former champion of the French fencing team, Jean-Baptiste Semmartin turned to winemaking in 2005. Training first in Bordeaux, he found the green path while working for Emmanuel Giboulot in Burgundy. From then on out it was biodynamics only for Jean-Baptiste. The three wines of Domaine Lajibe reflect its three plots of vines in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
The hand-tended Camaret vines are roughly 45 years old and produce golden-coloured grapes. A mix of gros manseng, petit manseng, petit courbu and super rare claverie. The resulting blend is aged for 2 years in a mix of old and newer large oak, then bottled with a pine rosin wax seal. Radiantly golden in colour with enticing quince aromas. There is nuttiness, fruit and tension galore - UTTERLY CHARMING CULT WINE.
