Revelatory stuff from the Rhône. 80% marsanne and 20% roussanne. Deep! Luscious! Expressive! Honey galore, with bursts of quince, pear and pineapple, with floral fragrance. The wine spends a year on lees with no racking, so there are richer notes of spice and buttered toast, too. Zesty, mouth-filling and with some briny/mineral detail for interest. Despite the richness and roundness, there’s freshness here. Poised, silken and lengthy. Pure class.
