Cult producers. Rare wines. A masterclass of stupendous excitement.

Uber importer Andrew Guard is a living legend in the Australian wine community and we’re super grateful for his generosity and interest in expanding our (and your!) drinking horizons. In another coup for P&V, we’re doing another top tier masterclass with Guardy - this time were focusing on the amazing Jura wines of Jean Francois Ganevat and wunderkind of Beaujolais, Jules Metras. Mike Bennie is hosting alongside.

Ganevat’s wines are synonymous with the best of best of the natural wine world. Working out of the hamlet of Rotalier in the south of Jura, ‘Fan Fan’ Ganevat and family create scintillating and memorable wines from a patchwork of small, older vine vineyards on prized soils. The wines are electric, deeply flavoured, refreshing, complex and cellar for decades. The wines are rarely seen beyond the cellars of small number who leap to purchase the wines – of course global demand and a slew of difficult vintages in Jura have made Ganevat scarcer each year.

Jules Metras is the son of famed Beaujolais producer Yves Metras. Jules is at the vanguard of Beaujolais’ resurgence producing a suite of wines that ably maps the nuances of various vineyards in the region. The wines are complex, show depth, and yet deliver us wines of unnerving freshness, brightness and fine detail. Metras wines decorate the shelves of the best natural wine bars of Paris, Copenhagen and Tokyo, and are likewise coveted by the ‘in-the-know’ Downunder.

It’s a rare treat to taste wines from these producers, more so to taste them side by side in a unique, never-to-be-repeated masterclass. Many of the wines sell out so fast that opening them for tasting is an impossibility; this event will give us that opportunity!

Join Andrew Guard and Mike Bennie in a rare-as-hen’s-teeth tasting. Eight wines (maybe a few more surprises…) and snacks. A tasting and education session for the ages. Tickets will sell more or less immediately, so please, don’t hesitate.
