Freeman Rondinella Pet Nat 2019

Is it a bird? is it an Italian football club? No, its Rondinella Pet Nat!

Rondinella is a grape variety usually found in the Veneto area of Italy (like the soccer club San Frediano Rondinella) but this comes from the Freeman's original Altura Vineyard in the Hilltops region. The former wine prof Brian & former wine student Xanthe have created a bubbly pink delight - with wildflower, pastry and uplifting spice notes to sink your teeth into. Enjoy party people, enjoy!

Friends Of Punch Saffron Pinot Gris 2019

Hooray! Another hit from Friends Of Punch. This time we see Yarra Valley pinot gris given some judicious time on skins - it becomes a wonderfully balanced orange wine. Scents of candied pear, tangy citrusy characters, licks of chalky mineral things. All going on. It's got a bit of a wild streak too. You know the deal.

Wowique Blanc 2019

Could be one of the hardest wines to list on a wine list, let alone ask for by name… Warwick Billings, a legend of cider making, makes the wine. It’s a no additive, Adelaide Hills wine, looks like some skin contact, definitely not filtered or fined by the volume of lees in bottle. One for the left of centre pile. It hissed and fizzed at me when I opened it. I couldn’t find any info on the wine anywhere, nor anything on the bottle to give more detail.

Light and dry, brisk with fizz, flavours and scents of green apple, farmhouse cider (light) and faint green almonds. Palate has a little more sense of fruitiness, but lean, and the wine finishes with a walnut husk smudge of texture and flavour, which could go down a dark path with time… generally, this feels pretty fun to drink! I like the wild nature of the wine, the sense of raw and alive is there too. I’d definitely drink this, though I know it is likely for a sect rather than the masses - Mike Bennie The Wine Front

Crittenden Estate Electric Spaghetti Jurassic White 2019

From Rollo Crittenden of the Mornington Peninsula comes "Electric Spaghetti" a blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin made in the french Sous Voile method. Maintaining freshness, whilst allowing secondary characteristics to develop.

With a burnt copper colour this wine has bright aromas reminiscent of crushed herbs, dried apricot and pear. A fresh zingy acidity keeps driving the wine for a long persistent finish.

P&V Session Orange 2019

How cool are tasting notes? Not very. It's made by Blind Corner, the colour is orange, it's some sort of chenin/sauvignon blanc, aligoté blend and my glass seems to have a hole in it....

Les Fruits Peu de Peau 2019

2.5 weeks on skins transforms this already fragrant and frisky sauvignon blanc into something else all together. A bit of grip with a rounded-out mouthfeel. Tropical fruits like guava and pawpaw come together with creamier textures of banana and mango. We are here for it!
