Delinquente's Hell Vermentino 2019
Hell yeah! Haha. Tightly wound, fresh and frisky though shows some judicious, skinsy funk and hazy juiciness too. Ripe lemony sort of zone though you'll find nashi pear and ginger in the mix too. It's fun, first up, but interesting too, oh, and lightly-nutty-savoury. Killer gear.
Jumpin' Juice Gee Dub 2018
It’s called Patrick Sullivan Jumpin’ Juice but the wine is now made in the most part by talented winemaker Xavier Goodridge (who has also allegedly bought into the ‘brand’) and the brand has surpassed Pat S’s locavore, Gippsland/Victoria vineyard worlds to include grapes from national sources. It was a wine that was released at times randomly, sometimes as a premium wine, and now, a ‘fighting brand’ per se, for natural wine enthusiasts, set to more affordable price points. Phew. We got there. All semillon from Margaret River in this wine. It sees two weeks skin contact and is raised in 3000L foudre and hits the bottle un-fined and unfiltered.
Lemon and grassy scents, bright herbaceous entry in the snout. Really lovely texture follows, a softening of the bouquet with light chalkiness, lemony freshness, green apple bite and a long, slow finish with rolling, mouth-watering tang a feature. Has complexity and freshness, feeling built for salty/greasy foods and seaside drinking. –The Wine Front
Konpira Maru Belarus: By Sergei 2019
100% Friulano was wild fermented on skins for 16 days in our Whitlands winery then basket-pressed, before resting in 50% stainless steel tank and 50% old french barrique. A bit of wild malo and a bit of oxygen has given the naturally luscious variety a bit of spice. Alc 12.5%, 820 bottles. Tasting notes: Nose of green mango with a palate of apricot and cardamom. - Konpira Maru
Friends Of Punch Saffron Pinot Gris 2019
Hooray! Another hit from Friends Of Punch. This time we see Yarra Valley pinot gris given some judicious time on skins - it becomes a wonderfully balanced orange wine. Scents of candied pear, tangy citrusy characters, licks of chalky mineral things. All going on. It's got a bit of a wild streak too. You know the deal.
Animale Amber 2019
From the Yarra Valley and from the grape variety pinot gris. Hi. This is a skin fermented orange-ish/rose-ish wine of immense drinkability, citrusy freshness, peachy fruitiness, light skinsy chewiness and general sense of good times. Animale is one of those ranges that leap from shelves into bags straight to home and into glass. Magic.
Express Winemakers Grape Fields Forever 2019
This pretty coloured "orange" number is a blend of every grape that goes through the winery - hence the name. It's an aromatic skin contact wine, but all you really need to know is that it is tutti frutti fruit tingle summer good times!
