La Haine Pet Nat 2019

Who can forget that DJing in the projects scene in the epic French flick of the same name of this wine? What a movie. I said the same in a previous review. Here’s an Italian grape fizz from Heathcote from Pyren. I assume off the Chalmers vineyard. It gushed on opening some what and we lost a glass to the angels/devils. This is a fizzy wine, unsure of method but assume pet nat.

Strong mulberry, sweet earthy scents. Rollicking out of the glass. Creamy texture reminiscent of Lambrusco or similar. Light, big bubble fizz. Gently sweet, ripe berries, finishes a bit short, a little more acidity wouldn’t go astray, but the wine is yummy, fun and fresh-ish feeling with lots of pleasure at hand. Nicely done. - The Wine Front

Konpira Maru Piss Christ 2020

Named after the art work or band, either way this is Piss Christ.

There is no doubting this is Sangiovese, that's what we love most about this wine. Alpine strawberries and sweet pickled cherries leap from the glass. Fresh and vibrant with a fine line of acidity which adds some extra voltage and tang for extra smashability factor. Another rosé for those that love flavour and not insipid swill. - Konpira Maru

Ochota Barrels Rack Juice 2020

Made especially for us by the legends at Ochota Barrels. An unfined, unfiltered blend of more than 15 varieties of both reds and whites. Cloudy, bright purple, full of punchy fruit. A real quaffer. We drink it well chilled and well often and insist you do the same! Bottoms up!

Persephone Cabernet Franc 2020

This wine is always so classically Cabernet Franc-y! Brambly dark fruits, leather tannins. Fruit from Hahndorf. Fermented for four days on skins, with foot stomping in open-top puncheon, basket pressed. - Rachel Signer, Persephone Wines

Ada Wine Co. The WILD ONE Grenache 2020

Great drinking, structured red wine. Perfume is pretty hearty and warm, dark cherries, garam masala, fennel, old spice cupboard. The palate similar, quite spicy, almost tactile, warm berries, sweet earthy savouriness in the mix too. Good slosh and generosity but finishes fresh. Easy to like. – The Wine Front

Express Winemakers Rouge 2018

Ryan the handsome young winemaker has definitely nailed it with this wine! His version of a drinkable red, with the varieties of shiraz, cabernet, malbec and tempranillo. No frills attached in this wine, just pure juiciness and an excellent velvety mouthfeel. Bright and with just enough crunch. Fresh as. All going on here. An everyday wine to be enjoyed with friends. Or yourself solo.
