Shobbrook Wines Poco Rosso 2021

From a 1930s planting of syrah vines grown on alluvial/sand over yellow-orange clay, this is a brightly flavoured, scintillating red of freshness, vitality and general joie de vivre. It spends around three weeks in a skinsy ferment before being pressed off and left to mellow quietly, the bottled without anything in the wine but grape wine and love. It’s fragrant, pretty and slurpable in the best sense. Man, oh man, delicious. A light chill? Sure. Plates of food, friends, sunshine, fun. Do it.

Bistro Louis Severine I Dreamed I Stabbed You in the Eye 2019

This exotically named wine is the love child of Sev Perru (global, natural wine consultant and boss of wine for 10 Bells wine bar in NYC) and Basket Range Wine second gen Louis Broderick. They’re partners in life and partners in this wine brand. It’s cabernet here, sloshy, juicy, dark fruited, very earthy and elemental. It’s wild and deep, brooding and mushroomy/autumnal. It’s really on the edge in some respects but the journey is exciting, the grape variety left to find a natural state from the vineyard and lip-smacking satisfying in its flourish of savouriness. Warming for the belly and soul.

Sam Vinciullo Vintage Mix 2019

It's pretty much all the fruit that Sam farms, shiraz, chenin blanc, cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc, all blended, all time. It's a ferociously thirst-quenching reddish wine of crisp texture, bright and fresh red berry fruit character, loads of pretty, floral spice and a good squeeze of blood orange-amaro-like tangy acidity. Wonderful stuff.

Jeffery Wines Primitive Table Red 2021

Chalmers Colbinabbin schioppettino and Metcalfe syrah (farmed by Tim Sproal of Minim Wines). A wine that was the result of two super light, bright and juicy leftovers finding a home together in the last vacant tank! A marriage made in heaven. - Nick Jeffery, wine maker

Frankly, Bob Made This Cabernet Franc Syrah 2021

The cabernet franc was fermented with 1/3rd whole bunches and the de-stemmed syrah was fermented separately. They were separately pressed but aged together in an old french oak puncheon on full fermentation lees.  Tastes like bramble berry, blackberry, and a hint of blueberry and tobacco leaf. Limited quantity here. - Bob & Tom Colman

Mersel Lebnani Ahmar Red Wine 1L 2020

Medium acidity, medium body. Beautiful served at room temp or slightly chilled!

Hand-harvested in September, destemmed into a concrete tank. The tank is then sealed and a native fermentation slowly goes on for up to two weeks at 25 degrees celsius. The skins are pressed off and the fermentation continues for an additional week. The wine is then left to go through MLF. - Vins du Liban Importer
