HALLO! Und willkommen zum österreichischen naturwein.
Austria has been growing grapes and making wine for over 2000 years, and while it’s also the birthplace of a fella called Rudolph Steiner (biodynamic founder) and home of the wiener schnitzel, it’s also home to one of the most dynamic, avant garde wine scenes in Europe. While Austrian natural wine still seems to fly under the radar in the broader wine world, we believe it’s a wildly impressive and exciting community that includes the likes of Werlisch, Tschida, Strohmeier, Muster and Gut Oggau – some of our personal favourite drinking.
Our friend and importer Andreas Puhar is a long standing expert and enthusiast of Austrian wine. We've snared him to host an evening of laughter, learning and wine at P&V Paddington, with a focus on natural wine producers of Austria. He’ll take us through a variety of unique producers and their wares – we’ll taste six to eight wines with snacks through the evening.
Join Andreas on a deep dive into this fascinating country and wine scene; the ancient culture, the incredible grape varieties and the people making waves on the global natural wine scene.
