Enio Ferretti is one of the co-founders of Valli Unite commune, a village in southern Piedmont dedicated to organic farmed produced and social justice. This is barbera from La Morella in Piedmont from Ferretti’s older, chemical free vines, re-fermented in bottle using some of the next season’s young grape juice. It spends a few months on lees building complexity. At the same time it shows this added personality from yeast-derived influence it’s also bright, crunchy and refreshing. It’s a brilliant light fizz with lots to savour.
