Lead by the Chalmers family, the Shelmerdines, Kennedys and even influenced by Central Heathcote producers such as the Marsons. This region is being reimagined. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"preFade fadeIn\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThat is not to say that there isn’t still a lot of fantastic Shiraz here. The Cambrian greenstone is one of the best soils for Shiraz production in Australia. I love the chocolate, meats, and grilled plum flesh that this soil type creates. However, it also produces fantastic Sangiovese and the alluvial soil types are not well suited to Shiraz.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"preFade fadeIn\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis wine is built on a backbone of savoury and dark chocolate greenstone Shiraz and juicy alluvial Grenache. Then a slatey and blue fruited Touriga is added with a herbaceous accent from Sangiovese.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"preFade fadeIn\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis wine was made to be my favourite style of infinitely drinkable medium bodied red. It’s got savoury meats and mocha with layers of red berries and vanilla.
