Majama Wines Zibbibo in Kothi 2024

Majama Wines is the creative collaboration between partners Millie Shorter & Rojer Rathod. Rojer is from Gujarat, India and is an emerging wine maker in the Hunter Valley wine region. Millie is an Australian creative specialising in textile & graphic design.

​Majama means "happy", "enjoyment" or "fun" in Gujarati. We aim to express the simplicity of the fruit into the bottle with a minimal intervention approach to winemaking. We chose to focus our attention to lesser known, hot climate varietals, in particular those indigenous to Sicily. 

Our zibbibo was hand harvested and made in the Hunter Valley region of NSW. Fruit was rested for ten days on skins and fermented in Indian clay amphorae, known as Kothi.

Intense floral notes of orange blossom, jasmine, and rose petals, lychee and ginger nut. Medium to full-bodied, with a slightly salty texture. Stone fruits like apricot and peach & candied citrus with earthy and ginger nutty flavours from phenolic extraction during skin contact. - Majami Wines
