With a climate not dissimilar to the Northern Rhone, Yass, outside Canberra, is a vast plain of granitic soil. Ideal for viticulture. The Mallaluka property was first planted in 2004 by the Leyshon family.
The blend of Pinot Gris, Sangiovese and Cinsault all play a part of the whole. Aromatically the Pinot Gris brings a floral lift out of the glass. Sangiovese adds some spiced cherry qualities and a lick of acidity, whilst the Cinsault adds a layer of complexity and palate weight to this very gluggable wine.
