If you ask Marie what Languedoc means to her, you will not be able to shut her up for about 2 hours (and that's if she's hungover). She would say it's an amazing land, still authentic and wild, where winemaking is raw and uncompromised. Jeff Coutelou would certainly agree with her. He inherited his winery after his father established it in 1972, and started working organically in 1987. Jeff makes beautiful racey wines, and is not afraid of pushing the boundaries by creating new cuvees and new blends every year.
As always the CLASSE is a staple each year - moreish and attractive, and from the super 2019 vintage; this is a medley of Grenache and Syrah - Full, deep and vivid this tastes about as natural as a wine can with is forthright charm and soulful depth. Lovely in every way! - Andrew Guard, importer
