SM stands for sumoll, a local Catalonia variety. It has notes of sour cherries and rhubarb, slurpy and crunchy, it really opens up with oxygen and becomes more complex. Vibrant fruit underpinned with a strong mineral core. Like all Partida reds, best served with a slight chill.
Partida Creus is a winemaking team made up of Massimo and Antonella, originally from Piedmonte, Italy. Now based in the Tarragona region of Catalonia, the idea of the project was to work with historical, often overlooked local varietals that in many cases were not recognised by the D.O. of the area: Penedès. This pair sought to buy and restore old vineyards, working with very expressive varietals, which they make into an impressively dizzying number of different wines.
