Grown mostly on the closest planted vines – they range between 20,000 and 33,000 per hectare – with some grapes from the surrounding vines “to fill the fermenter”. Yield was around 100-200 grams per vines. All grapes were destemmed. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. 568 bottles made.
I wouldn’t normally say this but I love the dryness of this wine. It comes with flesh, spice, perfume and texture and in that context the dryness has its own appeal. The flavours here throw redcurrant, blueberry, orange peel, sweet spice, fennel and floral notes at you, oak adding to the wine’s velvety texture more than to its flavour. Tannin is so fine it’s like icing, buried, fluttered; like the felt of a snooker table, the surrounding fruit assembled to house it. We walk quality terrain here. - The Wine Front
