Mostly semillon is the main deal with Solumodo. Skin fermented to a deep, beautiful, shiny orange colour too. Many components for a symphonic wine. Light weight green glass set aside for corks and dark brown heavier bottles.
This is the liveliest and ‘freshest’, or let’s say ‘least savoury’ of the orange wine releases from Ruggabellus in 2018. Spicy, vibrant with grilled orange and grilled peach characters, quince and ginger in the mix, a little salted cashew and a lot of pulsing, grainy, saline-minerally acidity lifting things and bringing incredible vibrancy to the wine. Tannins work in a sheath and tighten gently, this one more about that blast of vibrancy and dried citrus and gingery spice lift. Bergamot and dried orange lingers. It’s a brilliant drink, so complex, so delicious, so very, very good. - The Wine Front
